A Gentleman’s Guide to Bartending with Speaking Easy Podcast

guide to bartendingBartending is not just a fun thing that we can pick up doing at parties.  Bartending is not just something that you get stuck doing when everyone else knows that you know the difference between a martini glass and a margarita glass.  Bartending is an art that has been developed for many years.  Bartenders have played the unconventional role of the therapist in many occasions.  However, before you are a great bartender you have to be a great mixologist.  Alex and Jordan of Speaking Easy Podcast has been hosting parties and events for a long time.  Learning through listening to others, reading, studying, and trial and error they are able to come on today’s show and speak to us on and to add to another installment of the Gentleman’s Guide Series.

If you care to look back through the archives, or just at the bottom of the page, you will find the Gentleman’s Guide Series.  This is a series that is devoted to the best of the best podcasts and topics that men need and should know how to do.  If you are interested in being apart of this reserve of knowledge, please contact me and let me know what you have in mind!

Protecting Your Family with Alex Haddox

protecting your family with alex haddoxAs men, we are all trying to figure out better ways to protect not only our family but our homes.  I can go on and on with research and trial and error around the home or I can go to a source that knows what he is talking about.  Personally I have listened to Alex Haddox’s Practical Defense Podcast since it was in its beginning stages and now a subscriber to Security Professionals Podcast.  Alex Haddox has a bio that is very impressive and filled with self protection accrediation and certification that I didnt even know existed.  I spent this afternoon speaking with Mr. Haddox about a lot of different ideas based on protecting the castle and protecting our family while we are out in public.

How do we protect our family?

    • Why should we be concerned with guarding our castles?
    • Why can we not just rely on our alarm system?
    • What would you suggest purchasing to better defend our homes?
    • Is there anything that we can do for free to better defend our homes?
    • What kind tricks do burglars use to get us to open our doors?
    • Is it possible to completely keep our homes from being invaded?
    • What are some ways that we can keep our family safe when in public?
    • Are there any kind of special training we can obtain to better protect our family in public?

A Conversation Between Two Firefighters

a conversation between two firefightersBack in my early years as a lifeguard I had a close friend.  Drew and I had a wonderful time cracking jokes and swapping stories about being firefighters which is always a good time.  We ended up parting ways after a few years and lost touch with each other for a long time, until a year ago.  I have made him my beer mentor, if that exist, because he has been brewing beer a lot longer than I have.  He came over to the office today to brew some beer and, again, swap stories of being firefighters.  Understand that these stories are not to be mean or making fun of people, but we are firefighters and enjoy stories.  Join me today, which so happens to be BREW DAY, as we talk about:

  • How we met
  • How I got him a job
  • How being a firefighters brought us together
  • Stories about being a rookie firefighters
  • Insights into the brotherhood
  • Funny firefighters stories

My Interview with Bob Mayne Of Today’s Survival Show

my interview with bob mayne of today's survival showA few days ago I had the great pleasure of speaking with Bob Mayne.  He hosts a show called Today’s Survival Show and second show called Handgun World Podcast both of which I subscribe to.  I am a huge fan of Bobs work and was star struck when he allowed me to speak on his show about Executive Protection for the Family.  If you have been listening to this for any lengh of time you will know that I am developing a concept of being a executive protection agent for your family and friends.  Boiled down, being a gentleman.  That was the topic for the show that was recorded on March 27, 2015.  Below is the About tab on his website if you would like to jump over and get some great information about him.

Today’s Survival Show is the creation of Bob Mayne. I am an everyday guy, not a survival teacher or author. I give you an everyday guy’s perspective on getting prepared for events that can happen on a daily basis, as well as those rare events that are extremely catastrophic. However, I don’t engage in tinfoil hat thinking. I keep it full of common sense to help you “do what you can, with what you have, wherever you are.” This podcast is published once a week. I live in San Antonio, TX with my family. Thanks for downloading and listening.
