Being a dad is one of the best jobs in the world. I know this because my dad and my grandfather done such a great job teaching me life skills throughout my childhood. With spring just around the corner, it is a great time to get prepared for some projects to teach your children from. Understand that there is a golden window that last a few years that a child wants to learn from you. They want to be around you and will learn anything you teach them. This is the best time to do these projects with them. They will not only learn from you but they will keep that knowledge for the rest of their lives.
I am going to talk about 4 different projects that you can include your children in this spring. Projects that will teach them about construction, vehicles, and self sufficiency. While doing these projects, please be safe. Teaching them the ability to do something is just as important as keeping them alive. I included in the podcast what I would use for building materials but if you feel that you should use something different, please do so. I have no formal education about construction, just a lot of projects under my belt.
What are the projects that a dad can do this spring?
- The basics of building a swingset
- Planting a garden
- Rebuilding a vehicle
- Vehicle maintenance
