Pulling off a First Date

pulling off the first dateCongratulations on getting your first date with this new person in your life.  First dates are the most important dates you will have because it sets yourself apart from everyone they have been out with thus far.  So no pressure, but this is important.  What do you do and where do you go?  What should you do and what should you avoid doing.  All are questions that plague the mind of the gentleman bachelor because we are always trying to get the next date with this special someone.

There are some things that we can do to increase our chances so the date can be a success and somethings that we can do that decrease the chances that the date will end on a good note.  Gentlemen should be a step above the rest because we are decisive and ready for most situations.  Keep in mind that I am not going to be talking about playing games.  Games should not be in a Gentleman’s play book.  Be yourself and make some good decisions for your first date.

Dogs – A Guide to Their Care

dogs a guide to their careDogs are mans best friend.  As soon as you bring them into your home, they start to enrich our lives.  They take care of us just as much as we take care of them.  The only big part of take care of them is figuring out the best way to make sure they are happy.  That is where today’s podcast episode steps in.  Dogs aren’t hard to care for.  Mainly just feed them, bathe them, walk them, and play with them and they will love you forever.  However, it is the details in the middle that no one gets you ready for.  The times where your dog gets sick or hurt and your family is standing there looking at you for answers.

As a Gentleman, you should be prepared to care for your dogs if something was to happen to them.  You have to be knowledgeable enough to be a force for good when they get hurt. This is just a taste of what could be discussed in dog care as a complete subject. I will eventually go into further details about how to train them and how they can be homestead dogs but for now we will stick with the basics.

How to Survive Rock Bottom

how to survive rock bottomRock bottom is a hard place to be.  I do not see anything associated with it to be any kind of joke what so ever.  We all need a bit of encouragement at some points in time in our own lives and this is a good time for some.  Rather or not you are going through tough times right now, rock bottom could be right around the corner for you.  You are not immune from these hard times.  Today I am delivering a podcast episode that is meant to be an encouragement to you.  Rock bottom doesn’t have to be debilitating.  You can recover from something like this.  The fact is that your current position in life does not have to be your reality.  It only takes effort on your part to bring yourself out of a horrible position that you are in.

NOTE: This should not be the only source of help if you are truly having a hard time.  Please consult professional help if you are having a hard time with depression.

Why Are People Afraid of Survivalism – Throwback Episode

why people are afraid of survivalismWe hear a lot in the media about “that crazy survivalist” or “those paranoid preppers” ruining things for everyone and how they are some of the worst people.  Well if you can imagine, we are not that way.  However there is a since of fear that people have in their heads that we are crazy, eccentric, hermits that live in a bunker living on nothing but MREs.  That is not true for the majority of us, however there is a fear involved when people start talking about prepping.  When I get into a conversation with others about survivalism they always to their favorite excuses on why they are not into survivalism which includes prepping.

This is what I am discussing today.  Why are people so afraid of survivalism and then at the end I speak about quick and easy ways to get started with prepping.  To me survivalism is a word that I associate with responsibility.  Responsibility for my family and responsibility for myself.  Stop being so afraid and MAN UP!

  • Why I feel like there is a responsibility in prepping
  • The excuses I hear all the time in opposition toward survivalism
    • it takes too much money to prepare
    • too much time involved in prepping
    • it it is too much to think about in prepping
    • Someone else will help me if something goes wrong
    • Survivalists are paranoid

Being A Leader – Throwback

being a leaderRather you know it or not, you are a leader.  You are a leader in your home, workplace, and in your social circle.  There are people that are looking at you and trying to figure out what makes you such a great person.  People are looking at you and trying to analyze how they can be just like you.  The concern that has to be discussed is are you being a great leader or are you being a crappy leader?  Are you making decisions based on convenience or because they are the right thing to do.

Can you say that the people that you influence are going to be great themselves or are they going to be people that you loathe?  This is the topic of the day.  How to be an leader.  There are many schools of thought in which great leaders are picked apart and their decision scrutinized to make a list of attributes.  The best list that can be made is the list that you come up with.  Sit down one day and make your own list of attributes that make the best leaders.
